The Gobi, in one week

Mongolia is the least densely populated country on earth — fewer than two people per square kilometre. In the Gobi that emptiness becomes the point: sedimentary cliffs laid down in an ancient seabed, dunes 300 metres high that hum in the wind, and nothing on the horizon for hours at a time. Seven days is enough to cover the highlights and still spend a night with a nomadic family on the way back.

Day by day

A 30-metre cliff face, 100 metres wide, that looks like the ruins of an ancient city from a distance. It is an old seabed, and the bands of colour in the rock are millions of years of sediment.

Trip of a lifetime

We had an amazing, potentially life-changing 10D9N private tour with Sunpath. We picked Sunpath as we had seen this company recommended online and the tour price was reasonable.

Second time review

This is my second time going with Sunpath and was just as good or better than my first time. In fact, I think I'll do another trip with them next summer.

Best of the best

It was a blessing to decouple from busy city life and experience the pure way of living of people in Mongolia's countryside. There is absolutely nothing more we could have asked for.
